History of acupuncture
This art of diagnosing, preventing and treating disease is more than 10,000 years old. Its origins were thought to lie in India and in China, but the latest archaeological discoveries attest to the practice of acupuncture in the Carpathian-Danubian-Pontic area. From the 9th century BCE, clay figurines of an artistic and biological character were produced in this region. They represented men or women, and on their surface one can see openings similar to needle punctures, openings that correspond to the acupuncture points of traditional Chinese medicine. Across human history it has proved to be one of the most effective methods of preventing, treating and healing disease.
